Festival 2026
For the 21st time, the 11mm – International Football Film Festival brought football to the place where it truly comes alive: the movie theater. From March 26 to 30, 2026, the historic Colosseum Berlin on Schönhauser Allee became a gathering place for stories of triumphs and tragedies, legends and underdogs. As is tradition, the “Short Kicks” short film evening marked the conclusion of the festival, during which the winners of the individual competitions were also announced: Grand Jury Prize: Rise & Fall of 1860 München (Director: Lennard Bedford-Strohm); Young Jury Prize: Sapir (Director: Liran Atzmor); Audience Award: 360 Pieces (Director: Johannes Stjärne Nilsson); Short Film Prize: Kutte (Director: Sylvie Hohlbaum).
The festival kicked off with the captivating documentary A Summer in Italy – World Cup 1990. In the days that followed, the program also featured outstanding new releases, including Heysel 85, as well as rediscovered feature film gems, portraits of influential figures such as Luis Enrique, Kenny Dalglish, and Peter Schmeichel, as well as cult classics like Shaolin Soccer and Die Wilden Kerle, which bring football in all its adventurous facets to the big screen. The focus was on films that symbolize the passion of the game and of the people—and the conviction that football’s impact lasts far longer than just 90 minutes. It was five exciting days of the festival featuring over 40 short and feature-length films from 17 countries.
The team would like to thank the wonderful audience, all participants, partners, and sponsors. See you next year!
