SCHOOL CLASS SCREENINGS

“11mmCheck!”: 1500 pupils will be guests at “11mm”.
As part of our “11mmCheck!” program, the festival has invited Berlin and Brandenburg schools to celebrate the wonderful worlds of football and film and watch the Dutch feature film “Stay on the ball … no matter what” together. The response from the pupils is huge, and so we will have packed halls on Thursday and Friday morning, where the film, as well as the main actors, the screenwriter and the director, will certainly be cheered. After the film, there will be the opportunity to try out your skills in front of a “green screen”, to direct at the animation station or to act in front of the camera.
The program also includes two very special short films as supporting films, which were written, shot and edited by children between the ages of 10 and 13. These children have been taking part in our “11mmCheck!” program in Gera (Thuringia) and Crimmitschau (Saxony) since summer 2025, where they actually play football at TSV Gera-Leumnitz and FC Crimmitschau, but are now also passionate about filmmaking. Under professional guidance, they made the two films “Das verfluchte Fußballcamp” and “Fußball ist keine Hexerei”, which will now be shown for the first time on the big screen and outside of Thuringia and Saxony at the “11mm Festival”.
With “11mmCheck”, we want to motivate football-loving children and young people to become active filmmakers, and we have the fantastic support of the DROSOS Foundation until 2028. From this spring, “11mmCheck” will not only be on the road in Saxony and Thuringia, but also in Brandenburg, at FSV Blau-Weiß Wriezen. Hopefully there will also be a film from there next year.
