Birger Schmidt

As an educationalist and a big film and soccer fan, Birger has been successfully combining sport, culture and political education for many years: He is the initiator and director of the international soccer film festival 11mm, which has been held annually in Berlin since 2004 and is organized by the sports culture association Brot & Spiele, which he co-founded. His main job is managing director of Lernort Stadion, an association that has been dedicated to teaching democratic values to children, teenagers and young adults nationwide and very successfully since 2009.

Frank W. Albers

Festival management

Frank was born in Bremen and has been a fan of SV Werder since birth. In addition to living and suffering as a fan, he studied in Berlin and Frankfurt/Oder. This was followed by a period working for the Berlinale (Panorama section). After a research stay in Central America in 1995, he worked for a Berlin TV production company. From 1999 director of the Goethe Center in Reykjavík and lecturer in German literature at the University of Iceland. This was followed by program management for art and culture and international film funding at the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Since 2021 also independent producer.

Christoph Jungmann

Festival organization

Christoph was born in Berlin (West), is a cabaret artist, actor on stage and in front of the camera and enjoys organizing / producing international theater festivals and now also a film festival. He has been a part-time writer for the Berlin football weekly for over 40 years, and in the 1970s he sat with a few hundred others in the wide, draughty round of the Berlin Olympic Stadium as a fan of Tennis Borussia in the 2nd Bundesliga North.

Javier Weisson Dubke

Festival organization

Javier was born in Guayaquil and is “hincha” of the most popular soccer club in Ecuador, Barcelona Sporting Club. (Still) a student of Film Studies, Latin American Studies and French Philology at the FU Berlin, he works in the production of interfilm Berlin and will be involved in the programming of the 41st edition of the international short film festival from 2025.

Eno Wohlgemuth

Eno comes from Berlin-Kreuzberg and grew up in a theater family. After studying political science at the FU Berlin, he initially worked as office manager for Prof. Peter Grottian. Subsequently, he implemented various political, scientific and cultural projects. Active in Berlin soccer clubs since 1992 (currently THC Franziskaner FC). Two-footed, can play in all positions except goalkeeper. Favorite player: Pierre Littbarski.
